Recently, I took to adjusting the desktop colour settings, in the Nvidia control panel, to reduce the amount of blue on screen. I then played the Witcher, and got as far as beating a phase in a quest, with the settings still visibly in effect. Howerver, the game then inexplicably reverted the colours to default while I was playing it, and since then, continued to revert the colours every time I launched it. After exiting the game, the settings I picked are still shown in the Nvidia control panel, but they are not visibly in effect until I then change something in the panel. The problem seemed to have started after I pressed the Escape key twice in rapid succession in the game, but that might not be the cause. Other games might also cause this to happen, but so far, I only expierienced this in the Witcher.

I would like to know what is causing this, and if there is a way to prevent it, especially considering that game did already work with these settings, and this problem only started after a while.

Edit: I started changing the colours the same time a got a new monitor.
The first time I played Witcher after that, I changed the resolution in game to match. If I change it back to a lower resolution, my colour settings return. They then persist after I increase the resolution again, but that appears to be only temporary.
