Hi,

If you are affected by AMDs recent driver update and can no longer launch The Witcher, please give this a try.

https://fdossena.com/?p=wined3d/index.frag

Do note that AMDs OpenGL support on Windows is lacking a bit in the performance department but The Witcher is not a demanding game.

Please feed back on if this fixed it for you.

Meanwhile, please help us get AMD to take notice and fix the problem:

Reddit preferred right now because AMD seem to be moderating everything regarding this and deleting posts from some people!

Tried it, didn't work for me unfortunately.

Win10
R9 390
I5 4670
16gb ram

Edit: Actually it did work, i am still hangover from yersterday cant see well and copy pasted dx8.dll files and not dx9.

Okay so, i got to the main menu just fine, launched my save file, it runs but the framerates are a bit low, 30-40fps, playable but not optimal for me.

Also when i paused the game to quit, the letters and fonts of the pause menu weren't there, i used the arrow keys to "quit to the main menu" the same problem was on the main menu couldnt find the exit button so i used alt+f4.

So it kinda works but not perfect.

Thank you for your feedback. I think this might be a semi acceptable fix for those who don't want to roll back drivers for the short term.
Hi, the wrapper works for me however the interface text(journal, dialog options, etc.) disappears every time new area/scene is loaded. Changing graphic options or switching from full screen to windowed and vice-versa solves it, but only until you go to new area again. It's pretty annoying considering you switch areas often.

Same issue occurs on Ubuntu 16.04 with WINE/Crossover.

Is there a fix for this issue? I'm running AMD Radeon RX 560.
AMD said on twitter a hotfix is on the way, and will still support dx9 games.
Good to hear, thanks.
