everything seems to be up to snuff until i start a new game and instantly notice that i cant see any of the characters, they are practically invisible.

any help please?

This can happen because both games without patches write their settings in the same place in registry. Or could be due to game's buggy multithreading. Try the patch I posted here: https://www.gog.com/forum/the_suffering_series/the_suffering_series_aio_unofficial_patch

And read its ReadMe. You may need to alter the RefreshRate setting in its config file. It can happen that the default setting behaves oddly on some machines. Something I have yet to fix.

it automatically went to my rar extract software.

Exactly, you have to extract patched files in the downloaded file to where you have your games installed. Assuming you haven't changed anything during installation, open the downloaded file, then open the File Explorer and navigate to C:\GOG Games and afterwards drag and drop The Suffering and The Suffering TTB folders from your rar program to GOG Games folder you've opened earlier. When it asks if you want to overwrite certain files, say yes.
