Does "The settlers 2 gold edition" on gog supports 1440p or 2160p?

Or is it better to buy "The Settlers History Collection" on Ubisoft with native 2K and 4K?

The original version that's on GOG, does not support widescreen resolutions. However there's a mod called "Return to the Roots", that is older then the History Edition, but has much more features, like multiplayer and some automations that can be turned on. The latest nightly version of RttR supports UI scaling (2x for 1440p recommend), and it adds for the first time the single player campaign. However the newest nightly version cannot run on a potato PC anymore.
