Skambank: The Settlers 2 10th Anniversary is the version I keep returning to, I find it perfect. But the lack of proper FOV when running Super Ultra Wide is really bringing the game experience down. I run 5210*1440 and the max zoom out level is just not enough. Running the game in lower resolution gives me better zoom but obviously makes the game look much worse.
Any chance that a FOV mod has been made for this game? I have been searching but haven't found anything yet.
Someone wrote a script for Cheat Engline, to zoom the camera out more. Unfortunately the FOV cannot be changed through the game files. I don't have the links for that anymore.
Try to play with 1920x1440 resolution, or 2160x1440. The more narrower the aspect ratio the more area can be seen.
If the interface is too small for you, try 1080x720, so it become twice as big.
In the nVidia settings you can turn on "Integer scaling", so pixels become sharp 2x2 squares. when playing in 1080x720. AMD GPU's should also have this option.
The game should not be blurry then.
(For 4K screens I recommend 1440x1080 or 1620x1080)
And if the desired resolution is not available, it can be added with the small program called CRU (custom resolution utility).
(just put new resolutions under "Standard resolutions" in that program, and then run restart64.exe)
