today the issue has happened again!
I'm using DosBox 0.74 with default config, an AthlonXP, a Nvidia 7900GS, WinXP Pro SP3.
after 4h15m of playing on a free scenario, the mouse pointer got stuck on the horizontal axis, starting to move only vertically.
after some attempts, by means of the scrolling mode too, I was able to unlock the horizontal axis, but strangely the mouse didn't move anymore to the right over an invisible vertical line inside of the screen.. it was like the mouse pointer was reaching the right border of the screen, but in fact it didn't!
any help? my big worry is to understand if this bug is related to DosBox or to the game itself....
thanks in advance.

Well this happens to me from time to time too. The problem is combination of the game and DOSBox. I can't really remember if the game by itself on older windos did have this bug.

There are 2 solutions:
a) Restart the game. And hope for the bug not happen.
b) As my bug is only on right side opf the screen a move over the map to the left as far as i can (right button holding hovering over the map in circles, which hels for some time)

It is like you have limited range of mouse moving in certain direction... I hope it's understandable...

my opinion is that the bug is related to DosBox, but till now I have no prove.
as I'm doing it right now, I would ask you to play without DosBox to verify whether the issue happens or not.
ciao!

just to let you know, I started a thread about this bug also on DosBox forums:
http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=29718
just to let u know the bug has been finally isolated.
now a cure is coming!
thanks a lot to robertmo the incredible guy at Vogons, who has found the very origin of this nasty DosBox's bug!!!
So, where's the cure? It's been two years and I'm still having that problem.

If you go to the third page on the link http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=29718&start=40

there is a patch called float_counter_wraparound_2.diff that seemed to work judging by the forum replies.
Great, but I have no idea how to apply it. Why won't GOG Team include it in an update. You pay to get a working product, not a patchi-it-yourself puzzle.

This isn't like an IPS or XDelta patch where you can just apply it, you need to put it in the source code and compile DOSBox.

Try contacting Support. Maybe they don't even know this exists?
Issue still is in the GOG version. Or rather the DOSBox version used by GOG.
Luckily saving and closing the game and then loading it up again is a workaround.
I had the same problem I bought a new mouse so it could be old drivers.
