Hi, where abouts is this? I can find:

C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Settlers 2 GOLD\SAVE

But none of these files are newer than 2009 :-)

Windows 7 or Vista, right?

Look in:
\Users\your user name\
or
\Users\your user name\appdata

you might have to enable hidden files in order to see them.

Or just do a windows search for the file name.
