Noticed another problem with the German version of Settlers 2:

Using the "Credits" button in the main menu closes/crashes the game. This isn't the case with the English release and is working fine in the German CD release as far as I can remember. I'm not sure why this is happening. It would be really helpful if someone with a disc version of Settlers 2 Gold could do a comparison of all the files.

The same happens when you press the "Intro" button but that has already been teh case with the original CD releases.

Hab die Sache mal untersucht, Ergebnis: Credits Datei nicht vorhanden. Lösung:

1. im Ordner ...\GOG Games\Settlers 2 Gold\GFX einen neuen Ordner names PICS2 erstellen

2. folgende Datei dort hinein kopieren: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44316563/CREDIT00.LBM

Dass das Video nicht startet liegt an der Art wie es eingebunden ist. In heutigen Spielen wird das Intro aus dem laufenden Spiel heraus gestartet, bei Siedler 2 ist das Intro eine ausführbare Video Datei die vor dem Starten des eigentlichen Spiels geladen wird, danach wird erst das Spiel gestartet. Ich nehme an das Spiel ist nicht in der Lage sich selbst zu beenden, das ausführbare Video zu starten, und anschließen wieder das Spiel selbst starten. Das ist zumindest meine Erklärung warum der Button nicht funktioniert. Lässt sich anhand der Dosbox config Datei nachvollziehen.

Danke für die Mühe! Werde das später, sobald ich etwas Zeit habe, weiterleiten, damit der Installer erneut ein Update bekommt. Hoffentlich fehlt da nicht noch mehr, was wir evtl. übersehen haben...

I'm at fault here, as I haven't forwarded the information to the GOG staff yet. Been very busy the past weeks and wanted to make sure that no other file is missing (like the intro video before) before I contact GOG again. I will be taking care of this today.
