Hello.

First off, this isn't an issue per definition. I am however curious whether or not it would be possible to get this game in its original language, Norwegian?

Would love to have this as an option so I could have my kids play it.

Cheers,
Tony.

Unfortunately there's no legal way to patch the game to Norwegian. All of the digital versions for PC only support English. I'm afraid, your only option is to get a retail version in Norwegian. However, send GOG support a ticket to let them know there's demand for other language versions, although as long as Funcom doesn't publish it digitally, they won't be able to offer it.

DeMignon is right. The game contains stubs referencing the Norwegian build but neither the GOG version or the 4 CD version I have seem to actually support it. I'd also follow DeMignon's advice and send GOG a message of support for the release of alternate languages.

After a bit of research, I've found out that Funcom has a digital, fully localized version (german, english, french, italian, norwegian russian and swedish) of the game available on their website (official Longest Journey site). I cannot possibly phanthom why they would not release this onto GOG.

I've already contacted Funcom regarding the matter, however they sent me pretty much a binned answer.
It read as follows, and I quote:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Funcom Customer Support!

We certainly appreciate your enthusiasm for The Longest Journey and hope that the game continues to provide a unique experience :) Unfortunately, we do not have any news at this time regarding the future release of expanded language localizations, but should any news come out it will be posted to the game's official website. Please keep an eye out for announcements :) If you have any additional questions, please include them in a reply to this email and we'll be happy to help you with them. Thanks again for contacting Funcom Customer Support. I hope you have a great day!

This concludes in me doubting that we will be able to see a new release on GOG with other localizations any time soon.

Thanks for the replies though, and I will add my vote to the link provided.

Yes, you're absolutly true... I had this game when I was a kid in full french version. WHY could we not have the others localisation because even with subtitles, this is not the same (loved the French Voices).
