Luned: Now, I don't mind for myself, but based on some of the reviews my kids and I might want to buy this for foster children cared for by a neighbor. So, to comply with state rules about not providing "inappropriate" materials to kids in state custody, I need to know the ESRB/PEGI rating. Usually GOG puts it on the game card, looks like that slipped through the cracks this time....
The game has not been rated by either organization, so if that's a requirement in this case I think it's a no-go.
Personally I think it's pretty tame in terms of most concepts of "appropriateness" used in connection with video games.
I wrote or have read most of the text in the game and I don't think there's anything stronger than "crap" in there, and probably not much of that level.
There's no blood or gore (though I guess the Burlust poltiical screen background has a lot bones and whatnot).
No sexually-related content at all. Edit: well, actually, there is one kind of blackmail evidence you can use where a Burlust Warlord's been cheating on his mate. But if something of that nature is a problem then I think we're done here :)
There are some alcohol references, I think, but we're kind scraping the bottom of the barrel there.
The only part that sticks out in my mind as a potential problem is that the player has the option to sell prisoners as slaves (can also do prisoner exchanges or prisoner releases with them). Personally I found the concept rather disturbing, but I don't suppose it's really much worse than the option to pay the Acutians to dump toxic waste on someone else's planet (or even build another planetcracker, leading to mass murder on a planetary scale).
So overall it's dealing with some mature topics. Make of that what you will :)
