I am trying to figure out how to swap the functions of my right and left mouse buttons in The Guild. I'm running Windows XP and I have made the right button my primary button in the control panel, but this effects no change in the game.
I have also gone into my guild install folder and looked in the file game.ini, there there is a setting:
invert_mouse=0
I can change this to 1 and save/close the file. I then go into the game, and the mouse buttons are NOT inverted and when I exit the game, invert_mouse=0 is back again. Anyone have any ideas?

If you are on vista or win7 make sure you open the game.ini through notepad with administrator permission otherwise it may not register the save. Which appears to be the case, who knows if that inverts the mouse buttons or the Y axis on the mouse, though if the admin thing works you will soon find out.

Thank you, but as I said in my post, I am on Windows XP. Also I hadn't even considered that the setting might invert the axes, and now that you mention it, that seems rather likely.

Ahh sorry bit tired so missed the Windows XP bit. Not sure why its not keeping the save then I'll take a look at it.
Edit: well I had a quick look it doesn't appear to do anything. I got it to stop changing back by switching it to one and then saving. Then I went into the files propertys and turned it into a read only file so the game couldn't put it back to 0. It did nothing in the game even with my buttons switched in the control panel. Unless someone knows how to get that to work you may be out of luck.

Yeah, I tried that read only idea with the same outcome. What I don't understand is why swapping the mouse buttons in windows has no effect on the game. Thanks for your responses anyway. :-)
