It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

After updating, the game, a new folder for saves ("The Cat Lady") is created under Windows while the save files remain in the folder of the old version ("Cat Lady"). Copying them over into the new folder does not make them usable again, the game crashes upon loading them.
Is there any way to fix this or do I have to revert to the old version?

edit: Well, turns out the new version also renders the game stutterng on my system, so I guess it doesn't matter after all.

Hi there, the new version gives you a selection of new options. Because it introduces a number of new settings, you may need to tweak them (via winsetup.exe) to get it to look good and work well on your PC.

For example, Memory cache used to have a max of 100mb. This is the setting people used to stop the game stuttering, lagging and such. Now you can raise it to 512mb.

Previously, you could only use one graphics driver - Direct3D. Now you can use different graphics drivers.

It also has much better scaling methods for HD resolutions.

As for the save games, there should be a big old message right at the start of the installation about that with all the info, explaining how v1.7 and 1.5 are NOT compatible because of the AGS engine rebuild doesn't allow it. So yes, you must continue to use 1.5 to play 1.5 save files. I have no idea if GOG have created their own installer and kept that message in tact or not.

regards!

m0ds: ...the new version...
Sorry for hijacking this thread but I just wanted to say 'Thank you' for updating your game on all the stores where you've released it. I bought my copy at Fireflower Games and was really pleased to see the updated version there too. So many devs just don't bother sending updates out to anywhere other than Steam and GOG so kudos to you - and again, thank you :)
