I have solve all of the puzzles (the microscope puzzle is optional) before The Final Two Puzzles, but I can not go down the hallway on the 2nd floor.

According to walkthrough :"When you've solved all of the puzzles in the game (the
microscope puzzle is optional), go upstairs. Turn left and
go down the hallway. The hallway branches off to the right,
near the end. Zoom in on this hallway for a puzzle."

The microscope puzzle isn't optional - it does need to be completed before you can move on. However, it can be skipped like all the other puzzles to that point by attempting it, then visiting the library and reviewing the 'hint' book. Keep doing this until the hint book tells you that 'The puzzle has been solved!' and then you should be able to access the attic doorway.

thanks. I beat the microscope puzzle and got to the final two puzzles.

Yeah, I think if you are playing a newer version of the game, you don't have to beat the microscope puzzle. But if you are playing the original game, you do have to beat it. Luckily, you can simply use the library book method, and clear it. And, there are no cut scenes after beating the microscope puzzle, so you won't miss that on account of using the clue book solve the puzzle for you
