This was answered in another recent thread (about Pandora crashing on start up), you will need to:

edit the Dosbox configuration file, dosboxTex4_single.conf.

Find the line that reads:

MOUNT D D:\ -t cdrom

Change it to read:

MOUNT D ".." -t cdrom

I had this happen on my machine which was lacking a CD-ROM, I fixed it by installing a CD/DVD emulator (but fixing the conf file is easier).
I get run dosbox config from start menu error. what exactly do I need to do?

hey, why are you still playing Pandora Directive via CD's? You can buy and download the whole thing through GOG. Which is what I did and it's great, no changing cd's let alone finding a computer that would actually play them.

My PC has just been stolen and guess what....PD was on it !!!!! so now I have to start all over again and I was doing so well.

The default DOSBOX config via the GOG version was throwing that error in come ocmputer configurations. As mentioned, there is an easy fix if you don't have a physical or virtual CD-ROM drive defined.
