yeah, I'm getting the same issue. Tried turning off UAC per the support page, but that didn't make any difference (I wouldn't think it would).

I'm able to run UAKM just fine. I re-verified the Pandora install, so I wonder if the DOSBOX config got stepped on.

well, i hope I'm not being helplessly dense, but I submitted a trouble ticket on this.

it has been a while since I've dabbled with DOSBOX, but being this is occuring right after a fresh install - I'm not sure what else to check.

I'm re-playing UAKM right now, so I want to make sure Pandora is ready when I'm done.

I solved it (at least for me).

I'm using a surface tablet to play my games, it does not have a DVD (D:) drive. Pandora's DOSBOX config defines a D: volume but doesn't actually mount anything to it - so when the game boots it doens't see the D: drive available. I ended up installing some disk emulation software (virtual clonedrive) and set it as the D: drive, now the game boots and plays as normal.

Don't know your setup, but hope it helps.
You might also try to edit the Dosbox configuration file, dosboxTex4_single.conf.

Find the line that reads:

MOUNT D D:\ -t cdrom

Change it to read:

MOUNT D ".." -t cdrom

This seems to do the trick. I guess the game's executable checks for the presence of a D: drive, but doesn't do anything further to verify that it's the real CD.
THIS WORKED THANK YOU!

DAY 6, ROSWELL MAIN BUNKER, THERE ARE NO SCRAPS IN THE WASTE BASKET, this is keeping me from moving forward, also, every time I call Lucia Pernell she is not at her desk or available, how do I move forward with getting the password for the cd if Lucia won't answer?

I'm assuming these are glitches since I've even used all my hints and looked at walk throughs.

I haven't played Pandroa in years, and haven't yet played the GOG version - though I'm doubting there is anything functionally wrong with the game. You might try hitting up a youtube playthrough to make sure you haven't missed anything - in playing UKAM, I've gotten stuck a few times (even with hints) because I missed some little things not explicitly defined in the hints.
