Does anyone else have trouble playing Under a Killing Moon on a decent-spec modern PC? The movement is too fast to be playable (let's face it, moving your character in 1st-person with the mouse isn't great at the best of times).

Having a look in the DOSbox config for the game, I noticed that emulated CPU cycles is set at "max". Unfortunately, this means that on my recent i5 CPU, the game runs too fast. Frankly I'm surprised that the game has shipped with this setting, because it'll only get worse as PC specs improve.

I wonder if anyone has had the same problem and could recommend a config that worked for them. I'm happy to tweak settings through trial and error, but I thought I'd ask here first to see if I'm the only one.

Thanks.

I didn't have to tweak DOSBOX settings, but I did turn down then walk speed via the in game options menu if memory serves...

I'm playing through the game right now and yeah, simply choosing a slower walking speed in the game's config menu fixes it. You can also switch between the slow, medium and fast settings in-game using the F10, F11 and F12 keys, respectively, or hold the R key to temporarily boost your movement speed if it's too sluggish for the game's larger areas.
If you must, you can adjust the [cpu] settings in the dosbox.conf file, changing cycles from auto to some number that works for your machine. As it is, UAKM has very very few timed exploration puzzles (there are only 2 that I recall), so some mouse annoyance isn't so bad.
Thanks all for the suggestions!
