So here's an obscure question:

I believe I played this game soon after it came out, but never finished it due to bugs. One of the things I do seem to recall was that your male character could romance another male character if you rescued from a pirate captain, but that quest was switched off in one of the later patches. Anyone know if that's the case with this release?

That wasn't turned off with the later patches. The gay pirate appears in two locations, and depending on where he is the first time you speak to him, he may or may not be gay. Seriously.

That is a quset line in Nulb. If you apply the CO8 mod pack it will add a few things in the town of Nulb.
