Well, after finally getting the Circle of Eight fan patch primed and ready to go, I hit the play button, ready to begin my journey into another DnD game.

The opening logo's (Atari, Troika, and Wizards of the Coast) played... and then the game stopped working.

I tried a few more times until it began to cause my mouse to disappear on screen, not allowing me to click the end program button.

So after logging off and back in again, my first immediate second plan of attack was to uninstall then reinstall the Mod. It had to have been a minor problem that could be easily sidestepped, right? Thus afterwards I accomplished just that, started the game back up, and was glad to see that the game's official opening cinematic played.

And then I was promptly sent to the main menu... but of course it could not have possibly been that easy.

Now the mouse, both my wireless and laptop pad cursor, would not move. Until that is I decided to left click on a random spot on the screen, and presto! The cursor was in movement... and then the game crashed again. I : (

So, for the first time in my three year history on GOG, I now call upon the help of members of the community to see if this problem can (hopefully) be alleviated.

Is there anyone else that has run into this predicament?

Oh, and as a last heads up I'm running the game on Windows 7. Could that perhaps be partially to blame?

Yes, it could. Have you tried running the game in Compatibility Mode (Win XP SP3) yet?
Also running it as Administrator can spare you some troubles.

I've actually been running it as Administrator ever since I started using the module.

Miraculously enough apparently I may have solved the problem for now at least. Before you posted here I decided to go hunting for some other people posting about this problem. There were a few mentions about adjusting the Resolution in the module options. The first resolutions crashed as usual, but once it was set to 1280 x 800 not only did it not crash at the menu, but it also allowed me to actually play. I was able to adjust settings, play the tutorial, create my party, and at the moment my current save is at the shop right before you begin the game proper.

Hopefully this will continue to work. If it bugs out again after this I'll update this forum post again.

Thank you for responding! If I run into any more problems I'll keep in mind your info. : )
