I just got this game with the great sale that's going on, and was excited to get playing. Maybe someone has some ideas.
When I try to start the game, there's no response at first. for at least half a minute I just see my desktop, then for at least as long everything goes black but the taskbar. Eventually the Lucasarts/Telltale splash screen shows up, then the main menu, but where it seems there should be text, there are just a bunch of colored bars. A screen of my main menu is attached. When the Lucasarts and Telltale logos show up, there's more of that where I would expect to see the copyright info.
I uninstalled, redownloaded the installer, and reinstalled to no effect. This happens with all episodes.
System:
Dell Latitude D630
Vista
2.2Ghz dual core intel
Integrated graphics
2GB RAM
Because of the way it starts up, I've been able to watch my resource usage through most of this process. CPU load is hovers around 50% and RAM usage increases very slowly from launch on. So it's not like my system's being overwhelmed, even if it is older than the game. Anyone else seen anything similar, or even better have any ideas/suggestions?
EDIT: as if I didn't complain enough already, I don't have a mouse cursor in the menu either. If I randomly move the mouse around enough, I see some of those rows of bars grow as my invisible cursor moves over them, but get no response from clicking.
