I just bought the game.
I had the portable version of this game on my pc...but i thought well...let's buy this game so it gets good sales and maybe some more people would try it out.

Well...with the Portable Version i have no problems. It runs just fine.
But the Enhanced Edition just freezes after 1-2 seconds. Sometimes i get into the main menu. But when i then move the courser or do something on the keyboard it freezes again.

I really don't know where the problem lies...do i have to manipulate the configs to get a higher resolutiion?
Does my Second Screen interupt things? (No...it doesn't. it is plugged out)

I don't really see the Problem.

I hope somebody could help :/

post your system specs. and maybe try the windowed mode (edit sshock.ini).

I didn't find any sshock.ini data...maybe another reinstalling could help?

edit:
okay. I found the sschock.ini i changed it to windowed and even changed and tried some resolutions.
Didn't really help :/

System Specs:
AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 Processor (Quadcore)
2 Harddrives with about 500GB

same here; it's not because multidisplay setup, i've tried to disable all other displays, the problem is still there
core i3, radeon 7750; will ask for refund

no, it was faster to ask for refund & play portable version for free
i'll let gog spend their money for testing or other ppl who paid for the game & have this problem to do the same for gog for free

Yeah...i tired it. Didn't work.
Then some variations. didn't work.

But...in one try, it did work. I did everything you said and it worked.
I saved the game, closed it. To test if it would start normally now.

Nope. Didn't work either :/

Maybe...i have to mod the classic version or something?

yeah.
the dosbox version works perfectly.
It boots up and doesn't crash.

I'm having a similar issue. Classic edition is absolutely fine. Enhanced loads fine, I can use the mouse, fine. As soon as I press a key on the keyboard it crashes to desktop. Doesn't matter where, on title, intro video or name entry screen.

Try applying the latest RC patch as per the stickied thread. I imagine GOG will get an updated installer in due course.
