Hello everyone! SS2 with the unofficial community patch makes my framerate drop whenever i look at a particle effect added by the patch, such as the vapor coming out of the vents, or the water effect on the Radiation Showers on MED SCI, strangely this issue only presents itself when im running the game on my native resolution which is 1080p,if i run the game at 720p the framerate stays incredibly stable, also Thief 2 presents the same issue using the NewDark patch and im pretty sure its not a problem hardware wise since im running an i7 3770k 16gb DDR 3 and a 970, can someone please help me discover the cause of this issue?

the effects are a bit more demanding than in vanilla, but you should have no problems either way. is this a laptop? if so, you may be running on the integrated gpu without knowing.

No,im running this on a custom built desktop, maybe something on the drivers, but like you said i shouldn't have been experiencing this framerate issue
make sure the gpu settings in the control panel are at factory defaults, and then maybe try to disable multisampling in cam_ext.cfg (add ; right before multisampletype 8). or try running windowed (force_windowed).

disabling multisampling seems to have fixed the issue, thank you so much! This was really bothering me
