I have looked at editing the config.cfg file in order to change the controls to something I'm more used to in game.
I've had partial success assigning the movement functions to the 4 arrow keys, however I'm failing at mapping "jump" to the right-ctrl key ? The config file has jump assigned to ctrl+space, shift+space and alt+space, as well as the space bar alone. I would ideally just want to use right-ctrl for jump, but when I assign it that way it won't work ?

Additionally, I would like to remap the mouselook key of "E" to instead be on the "End" key above the arrow keys. Does anyone know how that particular key, as well as "Delete" and "Page Down" should be named in the config files' abbreviated key listing ? Any suggestions would be really appreciated...

Well I have had the same problem with mapping right control so can't help there. I did manage to map jump to the number pad 0, which if any help to you is kp0

these should work for the rest though:-

end=end
delete=del
pagedown=PgDn

Thanks for the quick response lazydog... looks like I may also have to give numpad 0 a go for jump then ! Seeing ctrl, shift and alt in the controls.cfg file with plus signs makes me think that those keys are perhaps not able to be used independently ?

Appreciate the abbreviations for the the other three keys - I should be able to make some use of those seeing as I like to game using the arrow keys and usually try to use the three keys above for various functions.. Many thanks

No problem, I use the arrow keys myself and it can be frustrating getting older games to recognise ctrl which usually does require another input...it can be done but would involve much tweaking I think.

One other possibility you can try, I have tested it and it works, is to bind ctrl with the up arrow for jumping (or any other direction you choose), might be of some use to you:-

bind ctrl+up, whilst this works it would seem to have a slight disadvantage in that you will jump further with any momentum, practice will be needed :)
