Has anyone managed to make the GOG version of SWAT 3 work nicely on Windows 8.1?
After setting the compatibility mode to WinXP SP3 it'll start (without that, it gets the generic directx err described elsewhere in the forum). But the frame rate is utterly rubbish to the point of being unplayable.

Don't know if you've already solved the issue, but in case you haven't, take a look and [url=http://steamcommunity.com/app/203510/discussions/0/846963165559152822/]here.
I recommend using dgVoodoo, it's a nicely done wrapper for old DirectX (and glide) games like this to work well in modern OS and doesn't alter the installation in any other way, you just remove the files if you no longer need it or it doesn't work. To try it you'll need to copy paste 3 of the included files in the main SWAT 3 directory, dgVoodooSetup.exe, D3Dlmm.dll and DDraw.dll then run dgVoodooSetup.exe, choose the desired settings (general and D3D tab in this case) and run the game as usual.
