I do NOT want to use the GoG Galaxy client to launch games. I did not install the game with GoG Galaxy. I used the regular installers. It installed. I tried launching the game from the start menu shortcut that it creates, but when I do that I just get a pop up saying to "insert disc".

Then if I look in the game installation folder, there's a shortcut there to launch the game, but when I run that it says it cannot find the exe.

I looked in the folder for any kind of executable, but could not find anything related to the game. The bin folder has some executables, but not for the game itself.

So, how do I launch the game? GoG Galaxy is NOT an option for me. If I can't play the game without it, I will refund.

This is very odd. There is no supereme commander executable in the bin folder. The shortcut is looking for "Supreme Commander\bin\SupremeCommander.exe" but it doesn't exist. I've uninstalled the game, verified installation files, and tried installing again, but still same problem.

Anyone else have this?

I'm unable to launch the game either. I keep getting a "Supreme Commander Application has stopped working" error and I can't play the game at all. I also do not use Galaxy.

it could be your AV if you have one is tagging the EXE and slapping it in quarantine.
as I downloaded it and ran it fine with out galaxy and it installed fine without it as well.

How strange, you'd assume the anti virus would have made some kind of notification if it found something to quarantine, but it didn't. And you're right, looks like Avira Antivirus marks the exe with a known trojan:

Is this even safe to buy? lolol, how is this even possible? The quality of GoG has been veeeeeery bad lately, and now this.
Did they like, grab a pirated copy of the game with a trojan in it and throw it up for sale or something??

I finally got Supreme Commander to load! I set the Compatibility Mode on the SupremeCommander.exe file to WinXP SP3.

Just checked both original and FA folders with NOD Antivirus. No problems here. I actually never heard of Avira Antivirus before.

I am using the Gog client, the files are in the bin folder, compatibility has been tried and AV exceptions have been made.... and it still won't launch. Honestly, this is why I got the Gog SC2, Steam's stopped working no matter what I did. Even tried with my original discs (yes, I still have those LOL), no joy.

I'm guessing its some compatibility issue with only a handful of systems?

Game doesn't work, XP mode launches it but then the mouse cursor won't move. Windows 7.
