Every game on GOG is downloaded as a .exe file yet this game shows up as a .pkg file and the game does not install after downloading this file. This is either a problem on GOG's end or the developers, either way it needs to be fixed because the game is unplayable.

The GOG overlay workd fine in downloading and installing the game, dunno about the solution to your issue, it's been a long time since I last downloaded the game on GOG as a separate executable file to install that manually, but you can always try to install the overlay.

Same here, I can download only a .pkg file and cannot install it. Unzip it did not helped.

I don't own this, but if it's a .pkg file that means it's defaulting to downloading as a mac installer for whatever reason. Probably a mistake that will get corrected tomorrow, when people are back in office.

Someone who owns it checked, and the installer is there but the default download in your account is being set to Mac, which is what's causing the confusion. Go to downloads and select Windows on the top left left. The correct installer should be there.

looks like I have the same problem... all set to kick some Lovecraft ass … and got an empty zip file and a blurb telling me that I needed a Mac file... it went downhill from there...rapidly... anybody get this thing going yet?

Just change the "system: mac" to "system: windows" on the product page.
I managed to open the pkg hard way then still cannot run it anyway with only a file called script. lol

Yep, I hit the same issue - didn't realise I was grabbing the Mac installer until I had downloaded the whole thing, only to wonder why we're using .pkg files now... Not sure why it defaulted everyone to Mac, surely the defaults should be set to whatever platform you use the most (or setup somewhere manually).
