Oh nice! I didn't knew there was a new patch. Lovely! :D
Downloading the manual patch now but I assume GOG will get it too eventually.

The patch came out today:
Update 1.4 (25 September 2017)
The new patch adds support for new resolutions, localized campaign maps and a few long overdue bug fixes! This will be followed by at least one additional patch for the game.
Available for both HD Stronghold titles, today's patch adds support for two additional resolutions requested by players as well as a few small bug fixes involving archer fire and map crashes. The Polish, Japanese and Brazilian versions of Stronghold HD also now contain maps of Poland, Japan and Brazil in place of the UK map in the original game's campaign UI. These minor additions to the our first two games are being released to signal that they are both still important to us! Further updates can and should be expected.
New Language Support
Stronghold HD is now available with Russian and Chinese language support. This new version also features cosmetic maps of Russia and China, replacing the UK map in the original game's campaign UI when playing in those languages.
On-screen text and subtitles in both Russian and Chinese.
Hundreds of lines of spoken dialogue and hours of new audio (Russian Only).
Hear and see your favourite characters insult you in your native tongue!
One of the first Stronghold titles to be made available in Chinese.
As with the release of the original HD edition and recent patch, this new language pack is free for all existing owners of the game. We hope you enjoy the update and look forward to more free updates for Stronghold games in your library.

Just FYI, the HD patches for retail versions Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader (Extreme) do not have DRM on their own, so when a Steam patch is rolled out for the two, you can theoretically try applying them manually.
