I have a tiny question. Does this version include the 2nd Crusader Trail and the rest of the AI characters found in the Stronghold Crusader Deluxe version? If not, then I've just wasted my 9.99$ :( Why am I so dumb not to look at the extras section?!

There should be some text somewhere saying "Hey, you won't be getting the 2nd trail and the characters found in the Deluxe version! This is just normal Crusader!"

Sorry, but the game really feels like a demo without Wazir, Nizar & co. And of course, the 2nd trail.

I can confirm that you get the extra characters and the second trial content - so as far as I know you get the full Delux content. The only bit you lack is the "extreme" mode which was a separate release by the company and which GoG does not have (extreme being the supersized armies)

Then it's fine. I was afraid I won't be able to load my previous save games in the GoG version. Thanks for letting me know. The game's page should really get fixed as there were 2 different versions of Stronghold Crusader (aside from Extreme) available. The original retail version, and the deluxe version.

If this GoG release is indeed the deluxe, the bonus characters found in the extras section aren't needed at all. The Deluxe version includes them as well.

Hmm its been a while since I downloaded and install the game - its certainly got both trails but now that you mention it I think you do have to download the extra characters as the separate addon instead of with the full product.
Which might be why we are getting the "delux" content but not having the game marketed as the delux.

I'll download it myself right now and get back here with the final verdict!
It's actually the Warchest version :) As you can see in this screenshot, it contains all characters so there's no need for any extra download.

Wasn't that hard to get as far as I did in my old save games again. I must say, Stronghold Crusader is simply awesome. The best RTS game I've ever played. Been playing it since 2005. Won't stop anytime soon. Got myself a brand new and all powerful desktop PC and there are only GoG games on my desktop. Simply put, none of the newer games can compare with the old masterpieces. Today's all about graphics really...
