Looks like there's been a major update for the game pushed to Steam today. Some of the highlights include cockpit view, difficulty settings, more targeting options, and a bunch of level tweaks.

I'm hoping to see it updated here no later than the end of this week.
The new build is with GOG, so should be ready for you guys to download any day now.

Some really substantial stuff in this update -- looking forward to seeing what you guys make of it.

So is Hardcore the default difficulty or is it Normal.

Normal is the difficulty before the update was rolled out. So there's now one difficulty setting that's easier, and one that's harder. Hardcore - as you might expect - is NAILS. Good luck to those of you attempting it :)

Have you downloaded and installed the supplied Universal update?
Press "c" to change to cockpit.

I purchased it here on GOG, can't find extra universal patch/installer, where can i find it ?
