I'm at the Temple of Throggi level and I came across a throg shaman pacing back and forth going on about his lost precious stone. He's in a room somewhere in the east. Wot do I do here? I've offered him a gem but I"m not sure if that accomplished anything. Am I missing something here?

I'm not sure, but i think you can get a clue from him with a couple of gems.
Maybe try giving him a couple more gems ?

I think I solved this but I don't remember exactly now... I think he was waiting for a specific gem, which I think can be found elsewhere on the same level. Try offering more gems and see if he wants one in particular. if that doesn't work, look around the level to see if you can find any more, then try offering those.

He sure is greedy, I offered him several different kinds and he took them all. But I think you can only give him 3 at most. Waltorious, I don't think there is a specific gem to be found in this level, hmmmm... Perhaps he's just an unimportant npc...I don't know.

I think so. Although I honestly don't know wot the hell he was mumbling about. That throggish accent doesn't help.

I'm under the impression he gives a worthless hint, kinda like wahooka does ;)
I'm playing through the temple right now, i'll try to figure out what he says when i find him.
Edit: Found him.
Ok, so the Hermit takes any two stones, doesn't matter which ones
He delivers two lines of speech, one for each stone, and i think there's a hint on the second line of speech.
"..since i enchanted the green Orb with poison"
He will accept a third stone but he won't say anything more.
you can enable the subtitles to read what the NPC's are saying, that way their accent won't throw you off ;)

Think he's giving you a hint that the God Statue's Green Eye is poisoned
So take the Red Eye for the Orb.
