So, I just bought stonekeep, I had this game when it first released and nothing has replaced it as my favorite. problem is, now it's just this small box in the center of my screen. When it first launches it flickers for a second as if it is supposed to be full screen, but it never expands. I can't use the little box icon to make it big. I grant drag the edges. Alt enter just makes it a tiny bit longer and the new area is black.

I have tried the forum suggestions I found, as in altering the stonekeep config files, and setting my NVidia to GPU scaling etc. I even searched up Dosbox instructions on how to make it full screen, but unfortunately as the dosbox came from gog and as part of the game, the files are different.

Dosboxconfig.exe says I have to run it from the start menu, but when I pin it to my start menu it gives me the same message.

So, seriously, what am I doing wrong here? How can I fix it?
Is it because I use a 1080p Hi Def TV for my monitor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I miss this game but playing it in mini mode gives me migraines.

I have solved the issue. For those having this problem here is what to do. At least for windows 7

Start>allprograms>gog.com>stonekeep>Graphic Mode Set Up
In the main page select Direct3d as your graphics. In the advanced options tic fullscreen if not alreadys elected. Also tic keep Aspect Ratio, and Double buffer. Then choose your resolution.
The graphics will be somewhat iffy, but then what do you expect from a 20 year old game?

Anyway, I hope this helps someone else out there with my problem.

If anyone can expand on this with instructions on how to clear up the fuzzy graphics I'd love to hear back.

I'd strongly advise you to use this version of Dosbox: http://ykhwong.xo.st/ It is Dosbox-svn-daum and it is much better than the anemic version of dosbox Gog ships, imo. This version of Dosbox svn-daum (published Jan 27 2014) includes a 64-bit version of dosbox & allows you to use any of a wide variety of pixel shaders...Highly recommended...

I run the game @ 1920x1200 with a D3d pixel shader that cleans up the graphics significantly...but there's only so much that's possible with this old game, as you note...;)...I found that the 64-bit version of dosbox pretty much doubles the animation and game frame rates and of course allows the game to use more ram and resources than the 32-bit version of dosbox.exe.
I use your recommended Dosbox for now. And i think performance is a bit better than before. Can you please link your settings file for stonekeep "Dosbox-svn-daum.conf". Would be nice. Although im interestested in your midi settings. Cause i think my game loads up virtualmidisynth correctly, but i cant hear any difference. I tried two soundfonts bei now. I use windows 8.1 64x

My midi settings:

mpu401=uart
mididevice=win32
midiconfig=0 /* the device id in dosbox for virtualmidisynth is #0
mt32.reverse.stereo=off
mt32.verbose=off
mt32.thread=off
mt32.dac=auto
mt32.reverb.mode=auto
mt32.reverb.time=5
mt32.reverb.level=3
mt32.partials=32

My graphic settings: (dont know which shader to use there for best quality)

fullscreen=false
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=desktop
windowresolution=1920x1200
output=direct3d
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper-SVN-Daum.map
pixelshader=
usescancodes=false
overscan=0

Edit:
for midi i tried setting intelligent (mpu401=intelligent), and now it seems to work properly.
