If I bought Stellaris on GOG, but I have a Steam account, can I play it on Steam without paying for another copy?

(The achievement system isn't working for me even when using Ironman AND turning cloud saves on because the cloud saves won't sync, and I thought that Steam might help with that.)

Hi Tiffo.

If you have bought the game on GOG.com or Steam, you cannot own, play and update the game on any other digital store, than the store you bought it from, unless you buy the game again, on that additional store you want to play it on.
Only exception to this reality, is the "GOG Connect" initiative, for which you can learn here;
https://www.gog.com/connect

Cheers.

Edit; The GOG.com version of "Stellaris" does not support achievements and cloud saves, for now.

I even tried adding my GOG product key to my paradox account to activate the game, which worked but did not make achievements work, and using the GOG product key on Steam, which did not work.

fyi the achievement system needs ironman but has nothing to do cloud saves or steam versions... to get achievements you must have ironman & [be signed in to] a Paradox account. The system was setup by morions but Paradox has control of it and they like it that way

if you download the Paradox version from them using the key you get of Gog then you have a more stable build... its really just an older build that syncs up to the standard server instead of the test server but whatever else i.e, Steam, Gog or Paradox all get achievements as long as ironman and a Paradox sign in are used
