I had time to throw at my run of this game yesterday and was very surprised to see the Jack-O-Lanterns and a Halloween specific NPC and mission appear. Has anyone else run into this? When does it time out?

I accummulated enough candy to buy the ticket to the ghost ship. I see that the level autoscales to +3 over the party's current. Despite that I was able to finish everything but the captain, but Lord Xur keeps kicking my ass. Any suggestions?
