After playing a little bit of Unknown Space, I've got a small feature request.

It's for weapon configuration. Lasers, in particular. They've got settings for manual, auto-locked and auto-free. I'd like a fourth option: point defence. In that state, it will only shoot at incoming missiles (possibly taking it out of your control entirely so that you don't accidentally retarget it when you've got the secondary weapon selector on "All"). I've seen my lasers firing at incoming missiles (and NPC ships' lasers firing at incoming missiles of their own), but I'd like incoming warheads to be a priority target. Otherwise, once a laser locks on to an enemy ship, it won't retarget unless the enemy goes out of range or is destroyed.

Maybe even a fifth option: point defence priority. Whereby lasers fire at enemy ships normally, but if there's an incoming missile they'll immediately halt their attack in favour of intercepting ordnance. More useful, but not as important. Especially if doing so needs weird things to happen to the secondary weapon selection (and targetting) functionality.

Yes, I know, the lasers might not be very useful in this mode without several levels of beam targetting (and possibly range) upgrades. And I'm fine with that, because it gives you a reason to invest in them.

Finally, I've no idea whether this would unbalance the game or not, but is it possible to add another setting that makes lasers automatically target asteroids in the same way that plasma turrets do with the autofire key (which, incidentally, I absolutely adore)? Then I could ditch the plasma turrets entirely and save a few hexes.
