No? But from your strong grasp on the King's English, I'm not sure if English isn't your first language or if you're just a Lumpenproletariat.

Sorry I don't worship kings you might.

So what some dead king said is proper or not is no concern of mine

Dude, chill. What Darvond was SAYING was that you could have found out what was wrong with the game by reading the post-release reviews on GOG as well as on Steam, rather than waste your money to find the very flaws that others pointed out.

*Slowly raises right hand*...I honestly thought that Darvond was being overly harsh in his criticisms of the game, so since I had some disposable income yesterday I bought it (I said that I would give it a try after several patches post-1.0) but haven't played it yet. I keep putting it off though because despite the bad name, Dungeon Souls and it's Dual Shock 3 support has me hooked.

Your money not mine...

You can put what ever you want in garbage.

It's not even a bad game, just not a game for everyone. The "review" says nothing more than "You grind, get better tools, then repeat several times" - this describes a lot of games, even several whole game genres. Don't pick it up over Terraria, that one is masterpiece of sandbox genre. But this one is decent fun too for quite a few hours.

Wow. And I tried to be reasonable. Good luck, sir.

That's another reason why I decided to pick it up; the game's premise seemed like it would have faster pacing. I tried to play Terraria, but I just finished playing several stints of the Terraria clone Junk Jack X, so in a sense, a clone helped to dissuade me from playing the original release, just like (for a while) SurvivalCraft caused me to stop playing Minecraft for a few months.

I'll get to it either tonight or tomorrow, but for now I'm trying to relax after working overtime...and recovering from trolling, negative posts.

Yeah, I was harsh. But when you build your game so much content up over a long gestation period, only to shave all that content for...reasons which have not even been clarified upon, there's a certain disappointment to be had. Like say, No Man's Sky, instead of simply lying about what what they had, all the wonderful promised content was in the game, but commented out for no good reason, and instead of being a sandbox, you are "heavily encouraged" to follow at least part of a now quite generic story about some dumb quest to get keys so you can beat up a thing sealed in a box.

No, you're fine. I should have added that while your criticisms APPEARED to be over the top, you were still entitled to them. To me it was like "Darvond is really pulling no punches with this game; yes, Chucklefish had a very bad lengthy development history with SB, but the final product can't be as lacking as he says it is".

What really sticks in my craw about the game (from the small amount of time that I played) are three issues - no controller support (seriously?), the k/b/m default controls are abysmal and the story is rather generic. I do like the matter manipulator gun though; unlike Terraria I have an idea of how far I can reach when setting items down due to the visible beam.

Wrong website...

The rep system states your are not entitled to opinion of your own.

Even Terraria has taken care of the reach issue with the smart cursor and generally just highlighting things well. The "no controller" is especially baffling as there are alleged plans to port Starbound to console, but I'm a bit doubtful that they'll get past certification with the programmer:artist ratio they've got at Chucklefish.
