I've just recently tried re-installing X-Wing 1998 on my PC after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and even after I downloaded the newest installer that's supposed to run on Windows 10, the game crashes to the desktop every time I try to launch a mission or the Pilot Proving Ground. I even tried going back to Windows 7, and the game still doesn't work! Does anyone have any recommendations for how I can fix this to get it to work? It stinks that I missed the recent sale to get TIE Fighter & X-Wing Alliance, but I'd really love to at least play X-Wing again!

Does that also happen with 3D acceleration disabled?

I had the same problem with the Tie fighter 98. I turned off the 3D on Tie fighter 98 and it works now. :D
