I have a razer nostromo and the game doesn't seem to respond to the directional pad.

I also cant fly with the mouse either.

Do I have to have a genuine joy stick to play?

Is there a list of compatible controllers?

All the windows games in the series require an analog joystick to play (or a gamepad with analog sticks), any low budget Logitech or Thrustmaster should do the trick.
