Collector's CD rom for DOS or Windows?
If DOS use dosbox, if Windows the original CDs won't work because the installers aren't compatible with 64 bit operating systems, there was a procedure but I never managed to get it to work.

I cannot get it to work either way .. hmm .. could it be due to CD reading technology ??

Oh well

What version is it DOS or Windows?
The old DOS cdrom I have works fine under windows 7 64 (I've tried it just now) and I sincerely doubt that 10 has screwed up reading cds too.
The install for the dos version has to be done from inside dosbox, mount a folder as the c: drive (possibly outside program files as that often screws up older games) and mount the drive as the CDrom drive using the parameter -t cdrom and install from there or just copy the content of the CD to a folder and mount that folder as cdrom using the same parameter.

So get this ..
I set up my PII system with a Voodoo II 1000 and the game runs fine. I took the CDROM and used a sata to IDE cable and under win 10 and the disk works .. ue the new CD ROM 2017 .. and the disk does not work. I know that certain BIOS versions in my P67 & x370 .. you cannot use HDs older than 2011. I do not know if this is related but who knows .. I set up a VM and am running it on my x370 just fine.

Perhaps it's a problem with your particular disc drive? I have a SATA DVD/CD writer and everything works fine.
