It is all very exciting to see old Lucas Arts favorites being released in GOG and I have to admit that I did not believe it would happen. I am very disappointed to see though, that major titles such as X-Wing and TIE-Fighter where not released for Linux (given the recent love of GOG showed for my platform of choice, for which i am grateful and happy).

Since others(Fate of Atlantis, Sam&Max) were released for Linux it shows that the publisher is not objecting a Linux release (such as other publishers do for other games, Gabriel Knight 1 for example even though it was developed in Unity).
Thus, if the publisher is ok I don't see the reason why not to release them. The 1994 version would play nicely from dosbox and the 1998 version would play with minimal fuss with some sort of wine solution). I would be happy with just the 1994 version if they gave the option and state that for the Linux release only the 1994 is supported.
Of course I can do that myself, yes. But that is not the point. The point is to avoid having to fiddle and to buy and support a complete product that you simply use and enjoy.

Are we going to see these two titles released for Linux? So far I have asked via twitter and via the forum in the original announcement but I have not received any answer as to the intentions.
