Hey all - realize GOG doesn't sell this yet, but this will inevitably be asked when they do, so I'll get the ball rolling!

As far as I can tell, there is no way to rebind keys in the Collector's CD release, so I've been using Joy2key. This works great, except that there are some default bindings in the game; for instance, Joystick Button 4 is "toggle between cockpit and external view." So if I say, want to bind button 4 to shifting sheilds around, it means it will toggle the view every time I shit shields.

Is there any way to *cancel* the in-game input for joystick buttons, or is it the same no-rebinding issue and I'm stuck with it? Thanks.
With TIE Fighter being released here I dug out my copy of the Collector's CD and had the exact same problem. DosBox has a rebind utility, ctrl-f1, but it doesn't have a joystick on the mapper screen. I had to go into the conf file and edit the DosBox joystick keybinds manually in notepad, but it worked perfectly after some trial and error. The binds in the game itself are hard coded, so joystick button 0 is fire, and button 1 is target/roll.
Open the DosBox button mapper (Ctrl+F1), at the top right side there are labels for the joystick buttons next to the axis mappings, just click 3 and 4 and delete the bindings for them, then click on the keys you want to bind, click add and press the buttons on your joystick. The only thing I've not been able to get working using this is the hat switch.
How do I open do box mapper? I need to do this in X-Wing and TIE Fighter
Thanks for the help getting rid of the default configs!

Does anyone know how to map a throttle using the default DosBox tool or JoyToKey (or something similar)? I'm using a Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X and would love to get the throttle working.

Right now I can only map two commands: pushing it all the forward up is mapped to full power to engines, and pushing it all the way back is mapped to zero power to engines. Even with that limited functionality I have to bring the throttle back to neutral though after pushing it all the way forward or back, otherwise the game treats it as if I'm constantly hitting Backspace or the "\" key repeatedly. I'd love to get the functionality I have the Windows CD version, but I need my iMUSE!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

This worked perfectly, an extra 4 buttons on my joystick is super useful, thanks!

Edit: Might as well add a link for this as well, to get the throttle working.

You edit the main .conf file, under the [joystick] section; change joysticktype= to ch.
