when i lload the game , the intro and all off that Works fine . but when i comes too the main menu , it is shown up in the lwft hand corner off the screen , i have treid everything . the same result.

Contact Customer Support regarding the game. I did because I'm having the same problem. After trying a reinstall, the game refuses to launch.

I have written too the support guys . But what they told me. I have already tried a million times, I have tried every capability mode ,rund the game in 256 colour , same problem. I have even tried to make a video recording of the problem , but it was too large to attach to everything, I tried to attach it to . i have Windows 7 Ultimate.

I tried running in compatibility mode as Windows 98/ME and that didn't work for me. I didn't try running the game in 256 colors, however. I'll try and if I don't post back here with a positive result then assume it didn't work.

UPDATE: I installed the game on an older Dell laptop with Win7 and HD 3000 integrated GPU and the game ran great with a wired XBox 360 controller! Someone posted in another thread that the latest nNidia driver might be the issue if you have a nVidia card.

Can you see the whole menu or just a part? It may be that your video drivers have are not set up to properly scale DDraw images. Start by making sure you have the latest video drivers (what card, btw) and DX9 redist (I'm guessing GOG already said that). Compatibility settings shouldn't be at fault here, and you may want to remove them altogether.

If none of that works, you can still try nGlide and/or D3DWindower. Both handle DDraw in a different way, so you may see improvement.

I had suspicions it was the nVidia drivers! SW: RS3D was working fine, and then I tried it again and it just stopped. I had a 'eureka' moment at work when I remember there was a driver update.

I just rolled back to the most recent, non-beta drivers and the game works again.

So, confirmed! Latest nVidia drivers makes RS3D unplayable, even with nGlide

How did you do that?
I remember I did the same, played fine untill I did a driver update.

Nevermind, I figured.
Double confirmed, that solved the issue.
The new N-vidia drivers messed up the game, reverting to the previous version seems to fix it.

Yeah, man, I'm glad it helped.

While it might be worth counting this issue as "Solved", it would probably be worth finding out WHAT in the nVidia driver update causes the issue.

Unfortunately, that is far outside my abilities.

How do you roll back your drivers?

In your windows device manager, hunt down you display adapter (geForce/Radeon Whoziwhatsit), right-click it, and hit "Roll back driver". Easy peasy.

It worked. I wish there was a better solution, but what can you do?

I had the same issue here, black screen with a blurry rectangle in the left upper part of the screen.

Installing the previous version of the Nvidia drivers worked fine for me !
