I've tried almost everything with two different players. My specs are:

-Windows 8/8.1 4 months ago, now Windows 10
-GOG Version

Thins I've tried:

-Reading all GOG Forums threads about wrong colours or icons, and multiplayer problems.
-Forwarding all game ports (Listed here in another post)
-Disabling Windows Firewall
-Using the .exe installed by GOG Installer
-Using the modified .exe that was posted by a staff member (Which launches the game Windowed if not Win8/10)
-Modifying my executable, the opponent's executable, and doing some tests.
-Using GameRanger
-Launching the game checking compatibility modes, admin mode, etc.
-Launching from the shortcut with the -w flag, and from the main executable.
-Checking if Directplay is enabled in Control Panel/Applications/Windows components. It is.

It's always the same. Sometimes with weird colours, sometimes as it should be, BUT IT NEVER WORKS:

-GameRanger does not launch the game.
-No games listed trying to connect with TCP/IP for Directplay

Also, if you are on Windows 7, if you use the modified executable posted in the other thread, the game runs windowed no matter you do, and the window size is 640x480, which is unplayable for a lot of people.

May I ask for a refund? This is not fair.

Did you get it to work? I had the same problem but I managed to get it to work.

Make sure the following ports are forwarded on your router:
TCP 47624
TCP and UDP 2300-2400
UDP 6073

For instructions on how to port forward your router, go to http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/.

If you're still unable to host after port forwarding, you can try the following:
1) Enable UPnP on your router. Now try to host via DirectIP, if it still doesn't work, go to step 2.
2) Add a firewall exception to Windows Firewall for Rebexe.exe, EVEN if you don't use Windows Firewall and even if it's disabled.
3) Add a firewall exceptiion for Rebexe.exe to any other firewalls you may have running, whether it's Norton, McAfee, whatever.
4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 with the DirectPlay Helper, typically found at C:\Windows\System32\dpnsvr.exe.

I host via Direct IP ONLY, not via Game Ranger. I haven't been able to get Game Ranger to host SWR yet, no matter what I do.
