Hey all,

My game crashes right after the intro cinematics and gives me an error message saying "Could not initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDrive."

I've already tried updating my drivers, running in compatibility mode, and running in 640x480 to no avail. I'm using Windows 7 64-Bit with a GTX 770. I'd appreciate any help in getting the game to run.

Sweet, it's working now. I tried running the exe before and it didn't work. Just tried it again, though, and the game launches perfectly. It's even starting through the GOG launcher as well. I have no clue what changed but it seems to be running fine now. Thanks.

We still have this issue, can this be marked as unsolved.

This fix works with the base game. I just launch the swgb.exe and it's on. However i cannot access the expansion content. I have tried to launch the exe and it just locks my laptop with a black screen. Please help us solve this!

I am having this same issue. Game plays the cinematics and then quits out displaying the error message

As per the advice here i have tried launching the game from its direct.exe and launching as administrator also however this problem still remains!

A little concerned that this thread is marked as "SOLVED" as it would appear that I am not the only person still experiencing this issue. Sort it out GOG!

It is "SOLVED" for the OP. Guess you have a different issue with similar symptoms. Send in a support ticket if you haven't already. You can also make a new thread including relevant information. More people will likely see it.

i have this problem too and the souloution dose not work . unless im running hte direct exe wrong?

Disabling duel monitor support works (run on a single monitor). Also running the game in 640x480 if that doesn't work though. Try disabling your other monitor first though :)

Got this all of a sudden too - it was working absolutely fine and now for some reason it won't. Doesn't matter if I go via the GOG Launcher or the .exe. directly...

Use a VGA plug. (15-pin). No HDMI. Direct draw doesn't reconize HD.
