Just as the Topic says. The game starts then you get that little move clip cutscene and then the program closes. What should I do?

samueladler: ... you get that little move clip cutscene and then the program closes.
That's when battlegrounds_x1.exe is started by GOG's launcher. Try running the game by directly starting this file.
You find it in \Star Wars - Galactic Battlegrounds\Game\

Don't install the game in Window's Program Files folder and for now don't use any compatibility settings.
Which Windows version are you using?
So I've had the same issue as SamuelAdler - tried installing directly to 'C' drive without putting it in the 'program files' folder with no luck - also tried running battlegrounds_x1.exe to no avail.

The strange part is that the base game (battlegrounds.exe) runs fine. Don't know why though
Okay - I think I found a fix:

Installing the SWGB Widescreen MOD seems to have fixed the problem for me with Clone Campaigns. I can't post the link for some reason to the download site, but do a search for the Widescreen mod on Google and you should be able to find it relatively easily

Here's the Installation guide:

Instructions:

1 - Copy with replacement all files from CD to {PathToGame}\Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds\Game\ folder for old CD version.
Copy with replacement all files from GOG to {PathToGame}\Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds\Game\ folder for GOG.COM digital version.
2 - Double-click on SWGBWide_x1.exe -> patch will apply.
3 - Run game from wide_battlegrounds_x1.exe and select 1280x1024 resolution in Options.
* If you can only select the top two display settings, not 1280x1024, run the game only from wide_battlegrounds_x1.bat. It launches wide_battlegronds_x1.exe with parameter 1280. This method forces resolution 1280x1024 for all users.
I've tried all of the above and all I keep getting is installs for DirectPlay. I can't seem to get past that. I should note that attempting to install or skip both results in the game being unable to play.

I have also tried to enable DirectPlay via my control panel but get the same error, 0x80073701.
