First off, I would like to say that I'm glad to see that there are Star Wars games on GOG now. However, I have a couple of technical problems with one, and that's Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Saga.

Problem #1: Massive Color Issue

On my computer, I installed the game, and I am faced with a massive color issue. I tried many DirectDraw fixes for it, but it didn't help much. See the attached photo to see what I'm talking about. (Sorry for the image being blurry or in bad quality; I had to take the picture on my phone).

Specs on My Computer:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
RAM: 8 GB
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7700 series
Processor: AMD A6-3620 APU 2.20 GHz

Problem #2: Game Keeps Crashing

On my brother's computer (he is a Star Wars fan), the game works fine, and the colors look fine, too. However, my brother plays it for a while and the game crashes on him in the middle of gameplay. I tried compatibility mode (Windows 98/ME compatibility mode) and running it as Administrator, but nothing worked so far.

Specs on My Brother's Computer:
OS: Windows 8.1 64-Bit
RAM: 8 GB
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7560D
Processor: AMD A8-5500 APU 3.20 GHz

Take a look at this fix:

GB Color Fix

Also, have a look here (since it's based on the same engine as Age of Empires 2):

Age of Conquerors fix

As for the crashing, try to set the affinity to one core:

1. Firstly, load the game, the press Ctrl+Alt+Del
2. Under the 'Processes' tab you'll find the SW:GB process
3. Right click it and choose 'Set Affinity'
4. Make sure only CPU 0 is selected!

Close the window and return back to the game.

If the above doesn't work, try disabling all hardware acceleration on your video card -> How to turn off hardware acceleration. Of course, after you've done playing the game, you can turn it on again!

Unfortunately the game is prone to crashing. I'm not sure what's the main factor yet.
As for the color issue, GOG already applied a fix for it. Do you use any widescreen patch or something like that, so GOG's fix might be deactivated?

No, I don't have any widescreen patches or any form of patches on my game.

So, have you tried the workout i posted above?

- Make a text document them save it as <insertname>.BAT
Inside it copy/ paste these:[/i]

taskkill /F /IM Explorer.exe
battlegrounds_x1.exe
Start explorer.exe

- Place the file into were your .exe (the file named battlegrounds_x1.exe) is and open the file you've just created to play the game.

Does it work for you?
