I purchased this game and the original Empire at War game won't run. The expansion Forces of Corruption does work. I don't understand how part of a game works and another doesn't. I contacted support and they had me try several changes to my computer settings but nothing would fix the problem. So I asked for a refund for the game and they wouldn't give one. So I'm stuck with a game that only partially works. I would not recommend anyone purchase this version of the game because you don't know if it will fully work.

Bro, i had the same problem, the expansion runs just fine, but the main game won´t. I went to the game data, there, at the buttom you´ll see a program called sweaw. Just rename it to swfoc.exe and the game will run with no problem. Hope this is of help.

At this point in time GOG support should just refund this game's price to everyone that has it in library and tell them to go buy it on Steam.

And, yes, de-list it from Store as it is outdated for years and is in barely, if at all, working condition!

1. its work.
2. it is original state game.

So it is sold in condition described on Store. Why delist and why refund? YOU dont like something or want something EXTRA missed here? It is your issue. Not GOG. AND F* NOT THE GAME ISSUE.

I'm having similar problems to those mentioned. However, the one fix offered here is renaming the main file for the regular empire at war (not expansion) to swfoc.exe, which I did, though launching the game, causes it to run the campaign now without cutscenes. Is there a fix to getting the main game to run without hobbling it by causing cutscenes to disappear?

Actually NM it seems going into manage installation>configure in GOG galaxy and then switching to the 1.05 version brought the cutscenes back for the campaign in base game and expansion, although the base game still needs to be relaunched under the new name swfoc.
