I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling codec packs including ffdshow, and also various admin and compatibility modes but cant get audio to work past the Activision splash. Game seems to be fine with the exception of not getting hull outlines.

Ok setting it to windowed mode in dx.cfg fixed the audio still no hull outline.
