As I recal I had to install fleet ops and then install a vanilla patch for fleet ops in order to get the game to run on Windows 10. I've never had issues with GOG games but is this getting any patches for Windows 10 before release?

The games are quite easy to get running on Windows 10. You just use dgVoodoo2, copy DLL some to the folder with the games executable then do a little setup and it runs. You can find info on dgVoodoo on PCGamingWiki, its quite a well known graphics API wrapper. I don't know how GOG is going to handle Armada 1 & 2 but it shouldn't be a hassle for anyone legitimately interested in the game to do this.
I wouldn't expect FleetOps to be included at all. While the community considers it "essential", since multiplayer won't work without it and it does fix several bugs (plus add some features), GOG's version likely wont include it, mainly because it doesn't work with the single player game (works with "instant action" not the story). GOG's version will simply be packaged with the official patches and a wrapper like DXwrapper or the previously mentioned dgVoodoo, which will allow the game to run, minus the multiplayer (GameSpy), in its completely "vanilla" state. I'm sure FleetOps will still work with the GOG version, for those that want to add it to the game, though the FleetOps guys might need to first do some updates to it to account for any differences in the GOG version (honestly there shouldn't be any major differences).
I had the original cd and it always worked 100% fine on my windows 10. My only problem is i lost my cd so now i cant get any of the "ISO copies found online to install and run. SO i can only wait for GOG to get it. I love this game and spent so many hours on it. Yesthe graphics are old and such but the game mechanics work very well. SO StarTrek Armada II works on windows perfectly.

Yeah that appears to be the case. So far for me it runs great. It would be useful at some point to get a guide stickied in here to get fleet operations easily set up so more casual people can get in on that.

Likely very easy to copy your game directory and patch one, use the other for campaign.
Shame there's no mod to bring the visual improvements of FleetOps to the campaign. Some of these starship models are... pretty rough.
