spyrhdwnas: Ok so I made the big mistake from what it seems buying the shadow of charnobyl during the past sales.Didnt play it as much at start,encountered countless problems with fsgame.ltx but managed to fix them,so today I decided to continue playing it.Again encountered problems with fsgame.ltx.Something about duplicate lines.Found another guy's fsgame.ltx and pasted his lines in my file after I deleted the previous ones.Managed to get the game to start but then the game could not find my save files.Browsed to the save file directory and the saves were still there.I just cant find a reason to search again for a solution to this crap game.Every single time a problems occurs.Either it was the fact that you have to download it manualy and not from gog client cause it bugs out or random shit during launch.I regret every euro I spent to this total crap of game.I even bought the whole series to try them.I just hope the other 2 games are not as crap and this shit game.Game looks great but these problems are just too much.Its just plain stupid to be forced to google search every damn time I try to launch this game.Too bad I cant refund this crap.DO NOT BUY this crap.Stay away from it.Hoping the other 2 games in the series are better.

EDIT:Fixed the issue with the save files not being found by the game.Still the game is not worth even 1 euro with all this crap.DO NOT BUY this crap.

Oh oops - that is or isn't you (jayclericus)? Initial problem and things tried sounds the same.

If you pasted in an entire different persons fsgame.ltx then you replaced your "root" path with theirs and that would probably explain it not finding the saves.

You should not replaced the line starting with "$app_data_root$ ="

That line is specific to each person and install.

The other lines, unless the other person had manually changed them for some reason, are likely OK to replace.

(At some point I'm going to grab a fresher DL and see this for myself - sounds like a frustrating problem - but my older v_2.0.0.5 DL doesn't seem to have it)

Martek: Sorry to hear you have so many problems with it.

My own experience is it's a great game with no game-breaking bugs. Yeah it isn't perfect (for example, the "stealth" isn't), and my original store-bought copy had an oddd "speed up time like 100X and die fast" bug. But overall playable and fun. Might be some "bug fixer" mods on the "official" forum. But I understand if you are just fed-up with it.
