I'm asking because I just saw Smugglers V, I clicked on it, entered the page; then I scroll down to the reviews and there is a "person" (trying hard not to insult) who is rating it 2 stars from 5 WITHOUT EVEN PLAYING IT.

Here's the quote:

"Played Smug 4. Fun for the first few hours but combat gets boring quick. Not much strategy for combat. I think the combat is the same for 5."

I THINK you should post a review after playing the ..... game ! Especially if you are going to give it a low score and your review is on the front page of the product. I'm not even a fan of the game/series, but seeing such a stupid and ignorant "review"( that may deter people from buying the game) on this epic webshop makes me mad as hell.

I love Gog but one thing that bothers me a lot is the fact people can leave a review on the game's store page despite not having bought it. The site should only allow people who have purchased the game to post a review, otherwise you get (frequent) nonsense like this.

Frankly 99% of the reviews posted on any game are unintelligible, uninformed gibberish.

I agree, the second one too is just as pointless and should be removed as well:

"This game is pretty much Prate in space expect you can build a pirate empire now, and more in depth trading mechanic."

+1 to the OP and the idea of not having reviews added by those who've not purchased the game here on GOG
Yes you could have played the game elsewhere but many tech related issues, as well as possibly some content (when expan packs are included or changed) aren't going to be the same on GOG as elsewhere and giving the ability to in essence "falsely" review a game on the site isn't really constructive.

Maybe the general idea should go on the community wishlist?

The specific review should be removed of course.
