Does gog version include some sort of "official" patch for the dreaded graphic glitches on new video cards?

Yes, it comes with a patch. (Albeit one made for the GOG version, rather than that one.) It wouldn't exactly be modern-windows compatible without one. ;)

I should hope so. It works just fine for me on my windows 7 x64 desktop and my poor ickle win xp netbook.

Damn that Exception error. It's plagued me every time I've gotten hold of this one. I figured maybe the GOG version would have gotten rid of it, but alas I'm cursed.

I remember a fix being available somewhere, but it just caused problems elsewhere in the game. Was there ever an actual fix for this one?

(Win 7 x64, nVidia 580 by the way)

What exception error? What's the message/symptoms?
Edit: Nevermind; I see the other thread. :/

"Exception: Access Violation". It comes up as soon as I launch the game. It was a problem with the game from the original release, but it popped up at different places.

EDIT: Hah, sorry, didn't think it was worth another thread. I'll head over there.
